Hi, How's Your Week? ♥

Hello Friends! How are you doing?

I can hardly believe we have already come to the end of March?  Where did it go?

The mornings are still quite chilly here but slowly we can see the light and the end of the tunnel.

Flowers are blooming everywhere and Spring has arrived.

I want to show you something....

My mother has the cutest flower pot in her front window.

It has a Peter Rabbit figurine standing tall peeking inside.

If this doesn't say SPRING I don't know what does :)

He's darling at every angle, but from the back is my favorite...

This season is all about pastel colors, chocolate goodies, and fresh flowers.
(In a moment of weakness I bought Cadbury mini eggs - I'm not sorry either : )

A $4 bouquet of daffodils from Whole Foods meant the world to me this week.

And here I be. Pj's on, covered in a long cardigan, hot coffee in my hands.

My happy place

This week I've been working at my computer, cooking, reading, napping, and still trying to recover from the post traumatic stress I suffered while watching the Oscars Sunday night. Honestly.  What was that? Shameful. I'm still in a state of shock.

I wish I had been around to witness the days of Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, when Hollywood was golden. The beautiful gowns, the class, and elegance.
Bring it back please.  We need it.

The good old days!

I hope these images made you smile.  I swear I was born in the wrong era!

Have a lovely day friends!  xoxo

It's Spring! YAY ♥

Good Morning Friends! Happy Monday!

I'm starting my day off today from Starbucks.  After weeks of seeing ads for it, I finally tried the Irish Cream Cold Brew and let me tell you, it's delish! I also treated myself to a blueberry scone, because it is Monday after all and we need to start this week of right.
Sometimes you have to have a coffee date with yourself : )

I'm happy to say that its officially SPRING so bring on the all the chocolate eggs and pastel colors!  Yesterday I put up some of my spring and Easter decorations and it's really lifted my mood.   It's still a bit cold out but the sun is shinning and in the house we are feeling springy...

Here's a little peek of my Easter village and egg trees.

They make me so happy

It's jelly bean season : )

It's also Cadbury mini egg season but I'm holding off putting those out so soon.  I'll just eat them all so I have to pace myself.

Good thing they are only available once a year!

I personally am never a fan of change, but the transition from Winter to Spring is one that I truly welcome.

The moment you feel that change in the air and you know what's coming...that's a good day.

Tonight I'm planning French Onion pork chops for dinner and after homework we'll settle in for tea and a cozy evening of TV.  Mondays are always exhausting and we look forward to our couch time together : )

Well, I'm off to get some work done before the day gets away from me.  I hope your week is off to a good start and the sun is shining on you today!

Have a great Monday Friends! ♥

If you are interested, here is the recipe for these pork chops.  They are really good!

Byeeee! xoox

P.S.

In case you were curious after reading my post on Friday...

1. I'm feeling much better! I cleaned and disinfected the whole house over the weekend! It was a beautiful day on Sunday so I was able open the windows and let some fresh air wander in.  BLISS

2. I watched the third Godfather movie so now I can say I've officially seen the trilogy!  I enjoyed them all and will probably make it an annual tradition to rewatch them.  I'm no longer an outcast in my Italian family and now will be able to understand all the inside jokes! LOL

3. The Midnight Library is fantastic and I highly recommend it.  It's a wonderful story that really makes you think about regret, life choices, and possibilities. I absolutely loved it ♥

A Little Friday Catch Up ♥

Hello Friends! Happy Friday!

How has your week been? I've been quiet on here this past week because I was not feeling great.  As much as I love the change of seasons, for me the beginning of Spring always comes with a cold and/or allergies!  I'm not sure which I had or maybe both. I'm happy to say I'm feeling better now and am planning a full disinfecting of the house this weekend : )

Tis that time of year again!

By the way....Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a quiet night and it was lovely.  I made a ham dinner with potatoes and brussels sprouts.  It was delicious.  For dessert I made my friend Eileen's Irish bread.  I make it every year because it's so good, and honestly the best Irish bread I've ever had. The secret ingredient is sour cream, so it's not dry like most soda breads.  I've been having it for breakfast all week! I just love it with a cup of coffee.

I'll link the recipe here if you want to give it a try.
Every time I make it I always say "why do I only make this for St. Patrick's day?"
I should make it more often

Winter has been holding on by a thread, but is just about to let go.  We had one last burst of snow last week (which was pretty) but I think that might be it for the season.  I don't want jinx myself, but today we may reach 70 degrees.  No jacket required!  I'm very excited about that.  I can see little green shoots coming up from the dirt out front and lately I've been waking up to the sound of birds chirping outside my bedroom window.  They are also happy Spring is here.  Very happy! It's a party out there : )

My weekend plans (other than disinfecting!!) include this book I just picked up at the library.  Have you read it? I've heard great things and I'm dying to start it.  I've been in a reading slump lately and I'm hoping this book will get me out of it.  It's been a while since I lost myself in a book.  Isn't that the best feeling?!

On Friday's during lent our tradition is having breakfast for dinner.  John and Rob aren't crazy about seafood (I know, right?!) so breakfast it is. Tonight I'm planning veggie omelets, toast, and fruit salad.  We'll eat early and settle in for a movie.  This past week John convinced me to watch The Godfather movies.  I had never seen them!!!  Downright sinful in my family!  I really enjoyed 1 and 2 (I think 2 a little more) and tonight we are going to round out the trilogy with the 3rd one.  I've heard it's not as good, but I have to see it through and decided for myself.  I'll report back later : )

And that's about as exciting as it gets around here!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy.  Remember it's the little things that count!

A Few Touches of Green ♥

Good Friday Morning Friends

I've added a few touches of green to the house this week 🍀
All my valentine hearts and few remaining snowmen I had hanging around have all been packed away in preparation for Springtime.

Although, let's be real, it's still very much winter around here. The groundhog wasn't messing around.   The temperature read 21 degrees in my car this morning.

I love prepping for St. Patrick's day because green is such a springy color and a sign of rebirth.

It means another season is coming to end and things are once again changing.

Blue and green is such a pretty color combination.

I've been worried about this spider plant.  She hasn't been looking good the past few months. She's wilty and I wasn't sure she was gonna make it....when all of a sudden....I noticed a spider baby!!!

That's a good sign 💚

Out and about it's still snow and ice everywhere.  As quickly as it melts more falls.

Some store fronts still have signs of Christmas.

But not for long.

Flowers will bloom soon.  I'm sure of it.

On Wednesday evening we celebrated Ash Wednesday with a pancake dinner and then attended a 7pm in person mass.  It was lovely to be back at church and a nice way to start lent.

And then there's this... my once a year Shamrock Shake.  Every March.  I sat in McDonalds parking lot this morning and enjoyed every drop.

Have a cozy weekend friends.  Spring is coming!
