Hello dear friends. It’s the day after Thanksgiving. Are you still full from yesterday? I am. My day started with pancakes and ended with
pie. It was delicious and everything
Thanksgiving should be. We spent the day
at Rob’s cousin Sonya’s house. I am very
thankful to her and her husband Ken for putting on such an amazing Thanksgiving
spread for all of us. As usual I took
more pictures of food than I did of people.
Here is the appitizer table. Isn’t
it pretty?
I really enjoyed scrolling
through Instagram and twitter and seeing everyone’s holiday table. I was thinking to myself how invested we are
with each other. We share so many things
online. Good days, bad days, ordinary
days, holidays. It’s truly amazing. Sometime I feel as if I know you more so than
the people in my “real life”. And I’m constantly surprised at how alike we all
are in more ways than one.
I was taken aback by one post yesterday from a
blogger that I follow – we do not know
each other and have never spoken – she posted that her mother is was in a coma
fighting for life. I was so upset when I
read this and thought about it all day.
I checked Instagram periodically through the day to see if she had
updated anything (and really, why would she?) but I was concerned. As of this morning there still haven't been any updates. I am praying for her.
I know a lot of people who
are not online do not understand this.
Truth be told most of my family do not read my blog or follow me on
social media and I’m perfectly OK with that.
It’s not for everyone. But my
point is I’m so thankful to have this community of kindred spirits to go
through my days with. We pray for each other
in times of sadness and celebrate in times of joy. I can post of picture of my morning cup of
coffee and have 5 girlfriends say “good morning”. I really look forward to that. We share recipes, traditions, our kids
achievements, and little snippets of daily life that make the world seem a bit nicer
during times when it’s not so nice. I’m
continually lifted up and inspired. I think we all need that these days. I know I do.
So to all of you out there who are reading this, thank you for being here.
I really appreciate you ♥
Have a wonderful weekend. Whatever your plans are I do hope it's spent with the ones you love.
I'll be decking the halls. My tree goes up today! xo
